Legal Question in Traffic Law in District of Columbia

City government not responding to traffic concerns

Hi,

I live on a residential street where speeding drivers have been an ongoing problem for years. Residents have complained to various city officials and the police repeatedly and we were even featured on the local news but there has been no response from government. Is there any legal action I can take that can help get the government to take some action? We have lots of damage done as parked cars get hit-and-ran frequently and it's a very unsafe situation. We have tried all the normal routes over and over again and get no action.

Thank you!

Re: City government not responding to traffic concerns

I am not aware of any legal action(s)which you could take to remedy the problem which you've described. Political action, however, meaning repeated contacts with your local council person and/or his/her staff, might eventually avail you of some relief from this problem that is not likely securable through the legal route.
