Speeding Ticket 48 in a 30 mph zone

I received a speeding ticket for 48 in a 30 mph zone in the District of Columbia. I have a few simple questions. Hopefully its not too much.

My first question is if I pay the fine how many points will show up on my maryland license. My second question: Is it worth showing up in court in DC? Is it possible to get the charge reduced to PBJ. My only recent infraction was a speeding ticket 2 -3 years ago in Maryland. I went to court for that and received PBJ. I forget what the length of probation for that ticket was. Will this PBJ show up on my driving record that the judge see's at my case in DC?

As a former practitioner in D.C.Traffic Court, I

can tell you without reservation that it virtually always pays to show up in traffic court to either contest your charge outright(the officer may be unavailable and it could be dismissed) or at the very least to negotiate

a plea with the prosecutor to a reduced charge.

However, PBJ(probation before judgment)is not a disposition that is recognized in D.C.Traffic Court although a form of diversion is usually available for certain more serious charges.
