Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in District of Columbia
My brother has been missing for 15 yrs. I don't know how to reach or find him. It's believed he was deported 12 yrs ago. Can he be declared dead?

If your brother was deported, there will be a record of it. You may consider hiring an immigration attorney to research the matter and give you a clear answer on what may or may not have happened to your brother. A District of Columbia Court will likely NOT issue a declaration of death unless you can show some kind of proof that your brother is actually deceased. Deportation does not equate to death. Best of luck. ******The above does not establish an attorney-client relationship and is intended solely for informational purposes.******
