Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in District of Columbia

Obtaining a copy of the will from Step Mother

My father died in May of 2008. At the time, my step mother told me there was a newer will but it was not finalized. She said there was only a holographic will and that she was named as the beneficiary. I assumed at the time that there was no way she was lying as she would have to produce a copy of the will if any assets were to be sold or put through probate. Now, there is some property in Arkansas that she has informed me, through a letter, that is going through probate. Can I get a copy of the will through her i.e. is it her fiduciary responsibility to do so? If not through her, how can I find out what, if any, assets were left to me? Thanks. She is in Washington, D.C. where my father lived and died.

I'm not sure about D.C. law, but if the probate was filed in court, in D.C. or Arkansas, the proceedings and will should be available as public record.
