Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in District of Columbia

Selling a house under probate

I am the executor of my mother's estate and want to sell the house and distribute the profit to my siblings. What legal forms do I need to notify my siblings and the court of my intentions? Does my real estate agent have to fill out forms relating to this that are beyong the normal forms and what are these forms, if any?

Re: Selling a house under probate

You could contact the DC Superior Court Probate Division(Fifth Floor of Courthouse) regarding this issue, but I don't believe that any particular forms are required for notice to the other beneficiaries regarding the proposed sale, nor, as far as I know, is the real estate listing agent required to affirm on any particular form that the proposed sale of the property is from an estate(but you could always check with the agent to make sure).
