My wife is having brain surgurey and may become incapacitated. Should I get her to give me power of attorney? What Kind?

Yes, it is smart for you to think ahead. To avoid any problems, you should have a financial power of attorney and medical power of attorney. The financial POA will permit you to conduct her business affairs. This is important if she has bills or accounts that do not have your name on them. A medical power of attorney will give you power to make medical decisions. Also if she has a living will, she can make the ultimate decision for herself.
