Legal Question in Workers Comp in District of Columbia

Mileage

i would like to know if i can be paid for mileage . ive been on workmans comp for 6 years and i live over 150 miles from my doctor and in those 6 years i had to go for doctor appointments and informal hearings in D.C. i would like to know if i can be reimbursed for these trips over the past six years by the insurance company or is that my responisbility.

Also, I am going for a formal conference and they are having video testimony from their doctor. That costs five hundred dollars. I am not able to afford this so I will only have my doctors medical reports on paper. Will this hurt my case any? I am going for permanent total. I was already awarded perm total through an informal conference, and this hearing is on appeal by the insurance company.

Re: Mileage

If you've chosen voluntarily to live 150 miles from your doctor in D.C., workman's comp is not going to foot the bill for the cost of your trips to D.C. to visit your doctor.

If the insurance carrier is contesting your claim for total permanent disability, you should definitely be represented by an attorney.
