Legal Question in Personal Injury in Dominican Republic
statute of limitations slip and fall
I represent a resident of Pennsylvania USA who slipped and fell in a resort in D.R.
What is the statute of limitations, and are there certain notice and other requirements necessary to prosecute a claim and if necessary, a civil action?
Also, is there an ''innkeeper'' type statute applicable to hotels and resorts?

Re: statute of limitations slip and fall
The statute of limitations is 6 months under contractual obligations. Since your client fell inside the hotel where he was staying then the hotel, under normal circumstances, is responsable for the slip and fall. Under normal circumstances means that the cause or fault of your client's slip and fall was not his. Can you please send me a summary of your client's case (i.e. Injuries, did he go to a hospital, what did the hotel say, did he or she report the accident (to whom?), location of hotel, etc.. Please send all info to: [email protected] - Attn: Marcos Rivera
P.S. What is the "innkeeper" statute?
