Legal Question in Family Law in Finland

61Never got married

I have been with girlfriend for 10 years, she never wanted to marry me. I am the only one that ever worked and supported her and our three children. She went out with friends and said she wants to be single. I don't want this, but I have no choice in the matter. My parents own the house we lived in. She has never worked even though I asked to many times. I want to help her and my children, but I have limited income to be able to support two family. What are my legal rights.

You have the same rights that any other parent has to help in raising your children. You can fight for the right to be the primary residential parent (the parent whom the children reside with). If not, you will have visitation rights. You also will have the same obligations which includes paying child support if she is designated as the primary residential parent by a court. You will also be responsible to help with child care, if any, and medical bills for the children. She will not be entitled to receive any monies for herself, however.
