Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Florida

My Authored Work Wasn't Credited To My Name.

I authored a volunteer written piece work for a game news internet network. They have posted it in its entirety, and have not attributed myself as the author. I have repeatdly emailed them of the oversight, and thus have been blantanly ignored. I know i own the copyright to it since i did the work on my own time and equipment without any finanical compesation. Although i granted them a free liscense to use it when i submitted it to them to post publically on their website.

Please advise, thank you.

Re: My Authored Work Wasn't Credited To My Name.

From the facts you have recited, it seems you have granted them a license to use the work, but it also seems that the license may have been conditioned upon their promise to credit the work to you. This appears to be a mixed question of federal copyright law and state contract law. You should consult an attorney to ascertain your rights under applicable state law as well as Federal Copyright law. You should not delay, as there is an applicable statute of limitations that applies to your potential claims.
