understanding an employers obligation to retain an employee after an approved FMLA leave, how long does the employer have to keep the employee at the same/similar job and pay?

The FMLA imposes limits on how long an employee may take for leave, typically up to twelve (12) weeks per calender year. Once an employee is returned to work at the same or similar job and pay, the employee is treated as any other employee. Hence, there is no limit or minimum as to how long an employee remains employed in this capacity.
