Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

I injured my right knee at work approximately 1 year ago, I am now hhaving issues with the knee and cannot walk properly and I have now missed 5 days of work. I went to the doctor who peformed the surgery, and he has ordered me to get another MRI, the dr. Sent the order to the workers comp office for approval, no word back yet. I have called 4 times and have not received a call back yet, and have not talked to a represenative from workers comp yet on this new issue with my knee. I need some advice as to what I need to do, I need to be able to advise my boss of my situation, and I also need to have whatever the problem is with my knee resolved.

You need to retain the services of a workers' compensaiton attorney. You are being ignored in the hope that you will go away or in the hope that no attorney will take your case. Contact a Florida Bar Board Certified workers comp attorney in your area or call me for a referral if your case is outside south Florida

You may need to retain the services of an attorney who has a specialty in workers' compensation, to deal with your problem. In the meantime, I would immediately talk to your employer, and advise them of the situation regarding your injury, so you do not have a problem with keeping your job. You might also enlist the employer to assist you in talking to your insurance adjuster. There may be a number of reasons for the delay - but if your doctor wants the MRI to treat an injury from your on the job accident, the insurance company should provide the care. If you do not get a reply after getting help from your employer, or if your employer will not help, then I would seek out an attorney immediately.
