Legal Question in Disability Law in Florida

Can a dentist deny partial payment of bill and send it back

I recently sent a partial payment of $30 to a dentist for a bill of $352 and they returned the check with the statement that they will only accept full payment. I have already paid $1200 up front. Is it true that I am no longer responsible for repaying the debt due to this?

It depends upon your state law. it doesn't sound lik good business to turn down payments, but if their payment processing costs them alot, it would make sense to only accept full payment: handle a bill once (or in your case twice) then forget it. Put all payments aside and pay them in full, but make it clear in advance you'll not be paying any interest.Check with local counsel on the rejection of payment rules, if any, in your state.
