Florida employment law and short term disability

I was forced to be on a short term disabily (only with the company for 6 months). Since I do not qualify fo FMLA act is my job protected upon the return ?

Short term disability is insurance and it does not protect your job, it only pays you for the designated time for covered disabilities.

That's a long way to say No.
