my landlord illegally lock me out and will not let me get my stuff how do I get it back

You will likely have to sue them for construction eviction. It is illegal to lock a tenant out of the premises without going thru the court system and the eviction process. If they did go thru the court system and the sheriff gave you the 24 hr. notice and give the landlord writ of repossession. In such time you did not remove your items, the landlord would know be the rightful owner of the property left in the premises.
