Legal Question in Disability Law in Florida
I recently filed a harassment claim w HR for the company I work for. From day one, the company new I could only work a set availability because I needed to be home with my child that has a disability. It was never a problem until I transferred to another area w a new boss. I have been told that if I do work off the clock that I can have my availability but if I don't they schedule me the days/times I'm not available. I have been demoted because I said I wouldn't work extra days which I'm not available because I need to care for my child w the disability and because I won't work off the clock. I am constantly being harassed about my availability. My request for days off are ignored. After I submitted the harassment claim and told to continue working while they looked into it, I was suspended. HR came back and told me there was no harassment issues and that if I wanted to return to work I had to change my availability. I feel like there's disability harassment, retaliation and forcing me to work off the clock. Help?

Sounds like you could have some discrimination issues. If HR is not helping the next step might be to file a charge with the EEOC. Feel free to contact my office at [email protected] if you wish help pursuing this or if you want to discuss further.
