if your 17 can you date a 14 year old

Well -- it depends on what you mean by "date." The 17 year old will soon be an adult and the 14 year old is a child. Nvere quite sure why an adult would want to be with a child and it raises all kinds of red flags. ANY sexual conduct would be improper. You can go to the movies, but beyond that there are real risks for the soon to be adult. Wait a few years.
