depositions
how many times must the same person be required to attend depositions, if one lasts too long or the apposing attorney is unprepared or just feels he wants to continue it so that he may obtain more documents

The answer is, it depends. It is normal that one can only have their deposition taken once. However, if there were documents the attorney was unable to obtain prior to the deposition, the attorney may get a second deposition on those documents and the issues raised from those documents. Some courts do place time limits on depositions, some courts do not. You should check the local court rules or court orders. Of course parties can agree to take longer depositions or multiple depositions of the same person. If you are represented this is an issue you need to discuss with your attorney.
