General Questions on an Appeal of a Divorce Settlement
Both parties entered into a "real estate" partnership before separation. Both "turned over" 2 rental units for "capital" to ps. Husband resigned from ps. Wife could not uphold both responsibilites for husand and wife. Her interest was diluted to Zero.
In a mediation, husband claimed partnership was worth $20,000. He wanted $10,000 as his fair share. When wife's attorney offered him the opportunity to "buy" her out - he declined. He wanted the money not the interest he claimed was present.
In the final hearing. Much testimony was heard trying to determine a value on the ps, however, nothing was concluded. Judge offered husband wife's interest (?) in the partnership - he declined. The day after the hearing the wife "officially" resigned from the partnership.
The appeal is saying the husband wants $10,000 for his share in the partnership, but the value still has not been proven.
Wife has very, very, very little money to fight! What should she do?
What are the chances the husband will be awarded the $10,000.

You should fight this appeal. There is a very good chance that the judge's determination will be upheld by the appellate court.
