Legal Question in Banking Law in Florida
Accused of check kiting - bank is closing the account - never been in trouble - not even a speeding ticket - did it because i needed additional time to pay bills (this was a business account) - what can happen??? No NSF fees - happened in FL

Open an account at another bank as soon as humanly possible. Banks can close your account for many reasons. Floating checks is illegal, however, the only thing that could happen is a negative remark on the banking credit bureau. Other banks may refuse you business if a negative remark states that you are floating checks. Seldom does this result in criminal prosecution.
