Legal Question in Banking Law in Florida
Hello
I sent a check to a person in advance for some work he was going to perform for me, later this work was canceled, I called my bank and put a stop at the payment for a charge of $30. After this the person went to a cash checking store and cashed the check. I now been contacted by the cash checking store that I am liable to pay them even if I stopped the check before.
What should I do.

Tell them to contact the person who cashed the check, it is their responsibility. He knew the work had not been completed and knew that he was not going to do the work (I assume that you told him not to cash the check).
