Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Bankruptcy and marriage
When i file bankruptcy will my spouse's credit be affected? The debt is only in my name and happened before we were married. We have been told by the creditors that they can garnish my spouses wages and include my spouse in the suit if and when it happens. So i am trying to determine that the only way out of this is bankruptcy but my spouse should not be affected.

Re: Bankruptcy and marriage
Your debts are yours. Your spouse is not responsible. The threats you and she are receiving may be actionable under the provisions of the FDCPA. You should consult with, and retain competent counsel. You may call me.
