Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

I am in the midst of filing bankruptcy here in Florida and own a home. I have a life threatening illness and am on disability (short term) through my employer of 15 years. How soon can I sell my home after bankruptcy and buy a less expensive home that I can manage? Does it make a difference if the home I buy is in another state? I will be paying cash from the profit on the home I sell.
