at what point would you say bankruptcy is an option and which is better 11 or 7

You are comparing apples to oranges really. Chapter 11 is generally for businesses. Chapter 7, for individuals. What you are probably wondering is which is better, 7 or 13. Before one can say which is better, you would have to state your goals. Do you have a home? A Car? What is the debt you want to discharge?
