Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Bankruptcy and Repossetions
I have planned on filing Bankruptcy. On Saturday my car was repossed. I spoke with a friend who said if I filed the bankruptcy now, I could get the car back. My question is this. The car is in my ex-husband's name (as the primary) and my name as the co buyer. Can I still get my car back even though it was repossed? And/Or what are my options now? I know I have to act fast.

Re: Bankruptcy and Repossetions
You need to file a.s.a.p to have the car returned to you. You must also factor in the costs of filing. If you have to pay the bank $750.00 to have the car returned vs. paying $850 to $1,500 to file either chapter 7 or chapter 13 you have to factor such in.
