Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
banruptcy and joint ownership
Things are so difficult now with creditors..if we filed bankruptcy..what about my car??? The title is in my name and my 29yr old daughters name. Is the 1998 car exempt??? I owe my daughter money on the car because she paid for my mothers funeral.

Re: banruptcy and joint ownership
You are permitted certain exemptions to allow you to hold on to some assets. For example, you can keep a vehicle which has a value up to 1,000.00, personal property value up to 1,000.00. If you file joint with a spouse those amounts increase. May be better to file individual. To involved to explain here. Review my web page at www.attorney-4u.com.
