You should consult with an attorney before converting chapters in bankruptcy, particularly if you are converting from chapter 7 to chapter 11 or chapter 13. It can be done without an attorney but you will be much better off discussing with an attorney beforehand. You should discuss the reasons for the change and the pros/cons of making such a change.
