Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
chapter 7 bankruptcy
My wife and I are currently participating in a chapter 13 plan. I am the only source of income. Much of our debt is in the form of unsecured credit cards she incurred in her name only. Can she file chapter 7 to discharge the debts she incurred while I continue to pay off my debts through the chapter 13 plan?

Good question and good idea. Did you file a joint ch 13? If not, then your idea can be implemented. If yes, then it probably can be accomplished. I've not experienced your situation. It is not uncommon to start with a ch.13 and then convert to a ch 7. You may submit a follow-up question.
My guess is that you can.
