Chapter 13 and child support obligations
In Fl how does filing Chapter 13 effect child suppport responsibilities? Is there a benefit to myself, as custodial parent, hiring an attorney to help ensure child support will continue? I know the arears cannot be sought after until finished with bankruptcy. How long can someone remain in bankruptcy under Chapter 13 rules?

Your child support continues. Arrears can be sought in some Florida bankruptcy jurisdictions but normally the court requires payment with the chapter 13 plan. 60 months is the longest duration of a chapter 13 plan.
