Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
civil judgement
Will filing for banruptcy in the state of FL. dismiss a judgement for $28000.00 from the state of Louisiana? The judgement was from a home we sold in La 4 years ago. We have exhausted all appeals etc and this is hanging over our head along with a multitude of credit card bills. Can anything be done to us in Fl to satisfy the judgement short of bankruptcy? We would like to keep our home and furniture etc - we assume that we will have to file Ch 13 because of our income - what can we expect to be able to keep?

Your question omits the details of how the judgement came about. What was the basis of the suit? I feel I can help you. My first suggestion is for you to call me for an appointment. The first 15 minutes is without obligation. I am at 305-940-8080.
