Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Are Community Association Liens Dischargeable
Because of illness I was without an income and my townhouse went into mortgage foreclosure. I sold my only other property to catch up on the mortgage and I am now current. Now the two HOA's governing my townhouse have filed liens and are beginning foreclosure. They will not consider a payment plan. I can afford a monthly payment, but not the lump-sum. Can association liens be discharged in a chapter 7, or restructured in a chapter 13? Thank you. -Chadded in Florida
