Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
discarging an installed airconditioner
We are declaring chapter 7 and we financed a heatpump airconditioner for the home that we own. It was for 5,000 dollars and two years later we still owe 5,000 dollars. My question is can the finance company file a lein against our house for the loan? Our lawyer said thet he doesn't know. Thanks [email protected]

Re: discarging an installed airconditioner
I would consult an attorney that deals with secured assets. Under Florida law, they may be able to file a lien against the property, if the property has become fixed to your property. However, they cannot foreclose on such a lien and could only be paid when you sell your home.
Good luck.
