Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
i have been discharged in chap 7 bankruptcy. The home was part of the bk and we surrendered it and it is in preforclosure with no sale date. Can I stop paying homeowners insurance. Am I still liable for anyone being hurt on the property. How can I get assurance that I can stop the insurance?

You remain the homeowner until the foreclosure sale is complete. You should continue paying the insurance because you can be sued for injuries someone might sustain on the property. This sucks, I know. It's very difficult to force a lender to foreclose. Your surrender was a statement of intention but had no legal effect.
