Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Discharging a VA loan guarentee debt
I owe approx. $17,000 to the Veterans Administration for a home I lost to forclosure in 1991. The VA is still agressively trying to collect the debt (originally $10,000) through the US treasury department. Is it possible to discharge this debt through Chapter 7 Bankruptcy? I also owe the IRS $5200; can this be discharged?

Yes you can discharge V.A. loan guarantees. I.R.S. obligations are very techinical and you should meet face to face with an attorney.
