Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
divorce and bankruptcy
my soon to be ex has filed for divorce and bankruptcy, she has listed assests including house, cars, she has credit cards in her name only as do i. no joint cards. the house i am living in and making the payments on time, my van is in both names i am making the payments on that too. I have a 1964 corvette in both are names she has listed it as a assest . she filed for bankruptcy in her name only, owes 17,000 on credit cards and has a car she is paying on. in the divorce papers we agreed to sell house house but the market is bad and prices have come down. also on the corvette she agreed in the divorce papers that i keep the car but if i ever sold it the children would get half of the money. my question is how does the bankruptcy effect me ? thanks very much for your time.
