Hello,
If you file for bankruptcy, then you might be able to wipe out money you owe to the homeowners' association, if you abandon the property through the bankruptcy. If you intend to keep living there, then you would probably still owe the money to them. It depends in part on what type of bankruptcy you file (there are different chapters for an individual) and what your total assets are.
Our office is in Boca and handles a lot of bankruptcy claims. We offer a free initial consultation and would be happy to discuss the situation with you.
