Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Can you only file Bankruptcy once in a lifetime?
I filed chapter 7 about 11 years ago. My husband had a friend attempt to file chatpter 11 for him 7 years ago. My bankruptcy was discharged & has now fell off my credit report. My husband's friend filed the bankruptcy forms with the courthouse, however he never followed up or went to any court hearings. My husbands credit report reflects the bankruptcy was dismissed. Can we file chapter 7 bankruptcy together now or did we only get the one shot?

Re: Can you only file Bankruptcy once in a lifetime?
You may file and be discharged far more than once in a lifetime. My question is, do you really need to file? Perhaps only your husband needs to file. He faces no bar to file at this time. You should consult with competent counsel regarding you needs to go bankrupt, individually or together.
