If I file for Chapter 7 or 13 BK, can my file still be considered for modification?

Absolutely. You can still modify your mortgage after filing 7 or 13. In fact, a 13 may itself present an opportunity to modify your loan within the bankruptcy case. You should consult with a bankruptcy attorney and discuss you goals to ensure the best result possible. Best of luck.
