Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
What happens if I own a home in FL, but have lived in CA for the past 6 mos?
If someone owns a home in Florida, but has been living outside of Florida for over 6 months, do they have to file in the state they are in? Does owning property in FL and filing in CA have potential consequences in regards to losing the home??
Also....if most debts are in a husband and wife's name, and the husband is dead, does that complicate bankruptcy?
Lastly, is there any question that is asked about where a person has been for the past 6 months?

If you are living in California and have the intent to have Ca. as your abode, then the balance of your questions need be answered by Caa. counsel. Since you have resided for the better of part of 180 days, Ca. would be the correct jurisdiction.
However, you should consult with competent counsel prior to filing.
