Will filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy stall foreclosure proceedings at all or is it just chapter 13 that stalls it?

The filing of a petition in bankruptcy stays actions by the creditors that are directed against property or assets of the debtor. A creditor may seek relief from the stay. This will change on October 17th.
