Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Land Transfered 3 Years Ago
I transferred personal, vacant property in Florida to my wife about 3 years ago before I started my business. If I file for personal (or business) bankruptcy, will anyone search for or find this transfer. I know that the search is normally 1 year, but have you ever heard of anyone going back 3 years? By the way, the loan is to an individual & not a company. So, it will not come up on a credit report.

Re: Land Transfered 3 Years Ago
I find the way you worded your question very distressing and most bankruptcy attorneys, hearing that question, would refuse to represent you.
A very common question in bankruptcy hearings is whether you have owned any real estate in the past 4-10 years. An untruthful answer is a felony that can land you in jail. Additionally, these days, many trustees run real estate checks.
Instead of asking how to break the law, disclose the details fully to your lawyer whether or not he asks, answer all questions truthfully, and don't sabotage your case by hiding things.
