Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Long Time Debt
I have about $20,000 in credit card debt. I have had these debts for about 5 years. Creditors have not contacted me or sued me. Do I have to declar emyself bankrupt to erase these debts or will they automatically erase after 7 years? If they do erase can they come back?

Re: Long Time Debt
After five years of total silence regarding the debt, including payment and written acknowledgement, the Fl. statute of limitations would prevent enforcement of the obligations. This assumes you have not taken actions which would toll the running of the statute.
