do i lose commission after filing bk
I am an insurance broker on the verge of filing bankruptcy and i want to know if i will lose my first year commissions as well as my renewal commisions after filing chapter 7?What if i file chapter 13?What if i was to replace my renewal policies with new policies(first year commissions)before filing?What if after filing;can i than replace these policies after my book of business becomes part of the estate?

If you file ch7 you will probably lose all. A ch. 13, if you qualify, may avoid the anticipated loss. You should consult with competent bkc ounsel in order to determine the best course of action.

You will lose any commissions due and owing at the time of the filing of the bankruptcy. There are techniques to prevent losing the future commissions.
