After your discharge, as much as you want.
The relevant date is the filing date, not the discharge date. Certain property is "exempt" meaning protected from the claims of your creditors. Florida has no specific limit on cash in an account, but there is a general exemption of $1,000 in personal property of any kind, $1,000 in equity in a vehicle, plus, an additonal "wildcard" exemption of $4,000 (if you do not get the benefit of the Florida homestead exemption). These exemptions are doubled if husband and wife file together. In addition certain wages and other types of property may be exempt.
Once you file your case, any property you legally obtain (other than inheritance or lottery winnings) are typically yours to keep.
