Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

Still owing a bankrupt insitution

A couple of years ago I had to solicit the use of a Bail Bondsman. We had a balance of $50 that we owed them. Unfortunately before I could pay it and get my mortgage papers back, the company filed for Bankruptcy. I tried to call the phone number but has been disconnected with no forwarding information. How and who do I contact in order to get this matter resolved. I am concerned about the paperwork's whereabouts and about the security of my home.

Visit the Clerk's office of the bankruptcy court closest to the location of the bondsman. Check for filings. Better is to reveiew the notices you've received. The necessary information should be there. Then contact the Trustee. It may be necessary to file a proof of claim or even to commence an adversary action. Save time, retain competent counsel to represent your interests.
