Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
If two people are on a contract and one person enters into a chapter 13 bankruptcy including this contract, can the other person be held responsible for the balance or the entire bill?

It depends upon the reading the exact language within the contract. Most debts are considered joint and several, meaning that each can be held responsible for the entire bill. Since one of the debtors has filed a chapter 13, he or she will be responsible for paying a samll percentage of the bill, and the other will have to pay the balance.
