Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Personal Property of others - fiance
My fiance is filing bankruptcy and I have concerns about the process of listing personal property. All of the furnishings in our home with the exceptions of his clothing and minor items was purchased by myself and I am concerned that my possesions could come into question. Is there any way I can protect my belongings should they come into question by the bankruptcy trustee (such as receipts for furniture, etc...)? Or will that not be necessary?

What's yours is yours. If the Trustee insists, show him the documentation. If that doesn't work you may have to defend your position in the bankruptcy court. The last is not likely, especially if the values are not excessive. If you need additional assistance call me.
