Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Personal Property
I am considering filing for chapter 7. I know that my homestead is exempt but what about my car. Can I keep it if I choose and make the payments, or must I give it up?

Re: Personal Property
Review my web page at www.attorney-4u.com for information about bankruptcy. However, there are certain exemptions permitted to allow you to keep certain assets. The amount of the exemption depends if you are filing individual or with a spouse. In either case, if after you use your exemption for your car and their is significant equity, the trustee can sell the car to pay some of your debts or you can reaffirm the debt and keep the car. Feel free to call my office for a free consultation and I can address other questions that you may have. (954) 966-4140
