Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Property exemption in florida bankruptcy
I am considering filing for bankruptcy as a Florida resident. I own a condo in Florida and a home in New York. Under the bankruptcy proceedings in Florida, I understand that real estate is exempt to its full value. Would that include property a florida resident owns in another state such as New York?

Re: Property exemption in florida bankruptcy
The exemption extends to the personal Florida residence of the full time , bona-fide Florida resident. Accordingly, if you are a resident of New York, neither would qualify.
