It would be improper for me to comment on the fees charged by other attys. No matter what the fee is, it is reviewed by the bkc court and or the trustee for it reasonableness. For a Ch 7 my fees are between $750.00 and $1000.00 with a reservation to charge more if an adversary action is commenced.

Consumer counselling has a high rate of failures. A viable alternative is ch 13. Fees for a ch 13 start at $1500.

In addition to the above the debtor must pay the court filing fees.

the fees normally run $350 to $1,000 dollars with the average being $600 -$700 dollars the court also charges a filing fee. Yes their is consumer credit counseling. You really need to sit down and see if you can develop a plan to pay off your debt within 5 years. If you cannot you should consider the filing of a bankruptcy. good luck.

The rate depends on the complexity of the case, number of creditors, assets and whether filing individually or married. The approximate range for chapter 7 bankruptcy is 350-1100. The US Bankruptcy Court in Broward County charges $200.00. You would need to check with the US Bankruptcy Court in your county to find out their charges.
